What I Do
Author Visits
I would love to visit your school, library or workplace! I can run presentations, activities and workshops for any age group. Please get in touch if you are interested. Contact me directly or through Writers in Schools.
Articles and Reviews
I have written children’s book reviews for The Sapling and The Herald. My essays and opinions can be found on The Sapling and The Spinoff, and once upon a time I was a reporter for the Fiordland Advocate (now Advocate South). Let me know if there’s something you would like me to write for you.
Events and Workshops
I am open to invitations to speak at your festival, panel, webinar, or other event. Previously I have run a webinar and live event for adults about publishing children’s books for beginners, and facilitated two webinar panels with authors and illustrators.
Environmental Education
I love sharing my knowledge with others. I have taught environmental education in New Zealand and in New Hampshire, USA. My background is in ecology and experiential education. Contact me with work opportunities.
Research
I co-authored a literature review on the potential impacts of climate change on New Zealand’s biological heritage (Keegan et al., 2022), and a biological flora on kauri is in progress. I hold a BSc in Ecology and have experience with data collection in the field. Contact me if I can help with your research.
Other
I love having a variety of work so if you have a project or opportunity that you think is up my alley, please do reach out. I have experience in summer camp management, teambuilding facilitation, libraries, bookselling, editing, and sales.
"Linda Jane is an absolute joy to work with. We contracted her to plan and facilitate our Nature and Literacy webinar series in June 2024, which also included producing a book list and ideas for teachers. Linda Jane is creative and highly organised, using her initiative and depth of knowledge to produce work of a high quality. We will definitely seek opportunities to work with her again in the future and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to others."
